Fragments of a Nation
A series of 3 digital collages representing the downfall of my home, Beirut, Lebanon, as it has been caught in a never-ending cycle of wars, both physical and psychological. Each collage takes on an element that highlights a key facet of Beirut's story, weaving together symbols of resilience, renewal, and history in a visual narrative.
CRANE
This collage represents the downfall of Beirut, and the crane symbolizes halted progress and devastation amidst the city's historical buildings.
SKY
These blue windows mimic the sky and symbolize portals to the outside world, offering glimpses of freedom and hope amidst a cityscape marked by the contrast of historical and modern architecture.
BLOOD
These blood spots added to the collage represent the city's struggle and resilience through periods of conflict and turmoil, juxtaposing the pain and sacrifice endured against the backdrop of its architectural evolution.
